Keep Oak Mountain Wild is a 501(c)(3) organization founded by concerned citizens of Alabama. Its mission is to preserve and enhance Oak Mountain State Park’s beauty, nature, and biological diversity, and to promote human health and well-being through the support of recreational activities compatible with the Park’s natural ecosystems.

 

The organization was formed as an outgrowth of concern for the potential over-development or commercialization of Oak Mountain State Park.  KOMW seeks to act on your behalf via petitions, surveys, and other means before legislative, governmental or other entities that have the potential to adversely affect ecosystems in the Park.  

 

Keep Oak Mountain Wild works through grassroots efforts to support the wants and needs of Alabamians who enjoy the biodiversity of the Park and seek peaceful recreation there.
